War Fatigue

So how are television viewers handling the coverage of the first war beamed into their living rooms nonstop by three cable news networks? According to a Pew Research Center poll released Friday, not too well. Out of 2,034 adults surveyed, 58 percent said they found the coverage "frightening to watch" and 42 percent said watching war television tired them out. "The issue is how will viewers cope?" said Pew's director Andrew Kohut. "Will they stop watching? Will it lead to less support for the war?" Regardless, the networks aren't too sympathetic. "It's really not my job to be a therapist or a psychologist," said MSNBC president Erik Sorenson. "It's my job to provide the news."
