A U.S. service personnel group has taken over a website set up by French President Jacques Chirac. ChiracAveclaFrance.net, which Chirac set up during last year's reelection campaign, now mirrors the USO's site. Chirac's opposition to the war against Iraq angered many Americans, but the USO has not commented on why it moved onto Chirac's website. The domain name for the site became available on March 31 when Chirac's lease expired, and the USO snapped it up.
