Man Slays Sneezer

A SARS-related death was reported in the Philippines over the weekend -- but not from the disease itself. A man killed fisherman Rodel Vincencio for sneezing near him. A witness said Jing Tattoo, the man who allegedly swung the knife, was "stricken with a SARS panic," fearing Vincencio might be infected with the deadly disease. The suspect "always covers his nose with handkerchief and avoids people who are sick with cold and fever," the witness told investigators. The assailant escaped immediately, and police have launched a manhunt. Sneezing in public has started causing problems in a lot of places, but what's next? Bans on fresh-ground pepper? If the hysteria continues to grow, intentional sneezing could become an act of terror.
