Two companies in the United Kingdom and France are introducing new "Muslim-friendly" drinks. Qibla Cola in Derbyshire and Mecca Cola in France say their products are a response to anti-U.S. sentiment among Muslims. "The Qibla brand offers a real alternative for people concerned by the practices of the major western multinationals that support unjust causes and support the American administration, known for its colonial policies," according to the company's chief executive. The company has pledged to give 10 percent of its profits to Islamic Aid, which runs charitable projects in deprived communities around the world.
