Subject: Embattled Lab Unveils New Nukes
A preemptive tactical nuclear strike on a Third World country is like a high-school student shooting a grade-school student for throwing firecrackers at him ("Embattled Lab Unveils New Nukes," April 23, 2003). The firecrackers didn't hurt. But it sure scared the hell out him.
After of almost a month of searching, The U.S. Military has yet to produce any significant evidence of weapons of mass destruction. We think they have weapons, it scared the hell out of us, so we went over there and "liberated" a country.
What happens if North Korea rattles their sabers? We nuke first, ask later. Right?

Subject: DVD Copying Court Battle to Begin
I think all this crying over spilled milk is for nothing ("DVD Copying Court Battle to Begin," April 22, 2003). If it weren't for Napster, I would have never heard the single from Orgy, "Blue Monday." In return, I went out and bought the CD. I also told my friends about it and they went out and bought it. I think if you like something enough, you support it.
For all the money records and motion pictures have reaped over the years, would you think a freebie once in a while promotes sales? It sure does....

Subject: RIAA Hits Students Where It Hurts
I am most concerned with the response given by Dr. Curtis Tompkins of MTU (" RIAA Hits Students Where It Hurts," Apr 5, 2003). He is condoning the immoral and unethical activity of the students. What if this student was caught burglarizing the local Tower Records? Would he also condone this activity? I hope not.
The governing body of the university should send Curtis Tompkins a letter of reprimand. If moral and ethical behavior is not actively being taught, then the university is of little value.
