The RIAA ... (Retarded Imbeciles Against Artists). ("Copy-Protected CDs Taken Back," Feb. 12, 2000.)
Don't they remember cassettes? Everyone had (has) a duel cassette player/recorder! For the last 30 years! People recorded off the radio, each other's tapes or whatever. I did all of these things and still bought albums. I don't remember hearing about all the failing record companies from this activity.
Today I will "take" music off the Internet, radio or whatever. But if I really like the music, I buy the disc! (Unless it is one that is overprotected, and will not allow me to take the songs I want and put them together on my own discs!) These new "protections" are driving a person away from buying CDs, which in turn is damaging the revenue of all the people they are supposed to be representing!
