When you've got a wireless laptop,
you get all sympathetic to the hapless
plight of "voltage rustlers."

At SXSW Interactive, the authorities
attempted to crack down on voltage rustling,
but Cory Doctorow led an instant popular
uprising that concluded in sudden and
total geek victory.
It was weird, though, to see half the attendees
piled into the corridors by the plugs, lolling around on
the convention floor attached to voltage umbilicals, something
like basking seals.
Voltage rustling – the digital equivalent of
double-parking.... why, it's tomorrow's
misdemeanor, at least till they get something
happening with fuel cells.
