A militant Muslim group vowed fresh raids on Indonesian nightspots selling alcohol during Ramadan after an angry mob vandalized a Jakarta restaurant over the weekend, smashing windows and doors and destroying furniture. "The authorities have turned a blind eye, so we need to act," said a spokesman for the Islamic Defenders Front. By law, clubs, discos and the like must close during the first two days of Ramadan and on the 17th day of the Muslim holiday, but apparently that's not good enough for the fanatics. "Even business people who have abided by the regulations were attacked," said the head of the Jakarta Tourism Agency.
