Remember Ralph Nader? Support for the consumer-activist-turned-White-House-wannabe dwindled by 50 percent in a dozen battleground states since last summer, according to a new poll. "This year's tough for him," said a longtime supporter. "They've turned on him. They're so afraid of Bush." At a Florida campaign stop, Nader accused Democrats and Republicans alike of "political bigotry, dirty tricks and constitutional crimes" in their efforts to crush his candidacy. Even the Green Party abandoned him, but the perennial presidential loser is hanging tough despite the freeze-out, likening the choice between President Bush and Sen. John Kerry to picking between "heart disease and cancer," and vowing to launch an investigation until "the pus, the mucus and the ooze pours forth."
