Big day at Miramar High School in Florida. Apple delivered hundreds of iBooks for students, all of which had to be set up individually. The big consignment is part of Broward County's Digital Learning Environment, a $5 million pilot program at four Florida schools giving thousands of schoolkids their own personal machines.

When I was a kid, my school had a single piece-of-shit BBC Micro with a tape drive, which was shared among several thousand students. The teachers couldn't figure it out, so it was left mostly in the charge of some older, nerdy kids.
