It can be frustrating when your political views differ from those of your loved ones, but there's no reason to go off the deep end. An 18-year-old Florida Marine recruit has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly threatening to stab his girlfriend over her choice for president. The problems started Tuesday night when Steven Scott Soper's girlfriend, Stacey Silheira, let slip that she might vote for John Kerry. An enraged Soper allegedly told Silheira, "You'll never live to see the election," and sheriff's deputies called to the house say they found him wielding a screwdriver and threatening to stab Silheira in the neck. They shocked him into submission with a Taser and hauled him to jail, where he will remain without bond until undergoing a psychiatric exam.
