The feds are considering the idea of letting passengers use their cell phones on commercial airline flights, despite concerns that this might cause interference with cell-phone systems on the ground. A mobile phone ban has been in place out of fear that using phones might screw up the aircraft's navigation, a fear which has pretty much been laid to rest. The airlines would like the ban lifted because they want to attract more customers. But they should consider that a lot of their customers will become highly agitated if they happen to be seated next to some bozo who yaps on his phone for an entire coast-to-coast flight. Fisticuffs could ensue.
