I went to this. It was good. It was an interesting
scene and the art was good. You shoulda been there.

Man, the fine art from the Juxtapoz crowd is CHEAP,
unless you're Mark Ryden, and Mark Ryden paints
so well that his prices are perfectly reasonable.
I can't understand why speculators aren't swooping
around these Jux shows and just buying that stuff
up in job lots. It's a lot less demented than it looks.
Could be a tipping point here: I can imagine
some critic dropping by the Pasadena Museum
of California Art, seeing the WONDERTOONEL
show, and realizing that this Ryden stuff, with the
slabs of meat, sinister bunnies, mystical obfuscation and
severed Lincoln heads, is the letter-perfect
art form for the second Bush Administration.
