As many gear heads have been expecting, RIM and Cingular announced the BlackBerry 8700c this morning. The 8700c is the first BlackBerry device to support Cingular's EDGE network, which lets users who don't want to wait for the carrier to roll out its faster UMTS network in their area access data services at a relatively quick clip.

The decidedly Treo-esque device will officially launch on November 21, with a street price of $299.
