Seems like Microsoft can't catch a break when it comes to in-store demo units. From Planet Xbox 360 comes news that some Xbox 360 kiosks, like the ones in Wal-Mart, are malfunctioning pretty badly.

Specifically -- whether it's due to overheating, improper assembly, kids spilling their Icee into the thing, whatever -- the gameplay shown here is clearly missing more 'n a few polygons.

This news follows reports that the Wal-Mart units had to be shut down as soon as they were turned on early last month, because the RF wireless connection was screwing around with Wal-Mart's handheld inventory scanners and even some of the equipment in the photo labs adjacent to the electronics departments.

Oh, and does anybody remember what was going on four years ago today?
