Merchandising icons Mario and Ronald McDonald joined together today to mark the launch of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and the turning on of McDonald's free Nintendo hotspots, which are in place in over 6,000 locations nationwide starting today.
Normally I'd go and test something like this myself but the closest McDonald's is the Haight/Ashbury and I don't feel like dealing with hippies today. But friend-of-Game|Life Jeremy Parish went out to the McDonald's conveniently located a block from his workplace and was able to connect without even having to go inside which is pretty cool.
More pictures of Mario and Ronald behind the cut tag. Not pictured: Mario and Ronald get so caught up in the heat of the moment that they just start making out up against the shake machine.

"Only scrubs don't powerslide, moron. And you can't go through that shortcut without a speed boost."

Since I did my journalistic research, I know that these people are Tim DeClaire of Nintendo, Phil Waters of Wayport and Gina Pfeifer of McDonald's.

"Argh, I swear to freaking crap I was in first and then Mario used that lightning bolt just as I was going over the waterfall. That's bull."

Somebody trying to be a joker brought a PSP to the event. Angrily, Mario powered the unit down.
