Seven months after the launch of the PSP, Sony -- or more accurately, Sony Pictures Digital -- has released software that actually lets you use its advanced media capabilities without jumping through hoops.
Not only does the Media Manager promise to let you easily downsample and transfer images, video, and music to the PSP, it will also pull RSS feeds "including podcasts, video blogs, and
PSP-formatted magazines" for easy downloading.
You can download the software for $19.95, or buy it in stores in a package that includes a USB cable, sample media, and free song downloads from SonyConnect for $29.95 starting December 1.
Thoughts:
Am I the only one who finds it a bit odd that the official literature for this device says it's good for downloading, quote, "podcasts"?
Shouldn't this have been packed in the box on a CD seven months ago?
Sony's going to get me a copy of the software for review. Check back here in a few days for the report.
