*Since "New Ecology of Things" is a construction class which takes place in a design lab, I seized the chance to build something. This is my Visionary-in-Residence personally-constructed art installation, the aptly-titled "New Ecology of Things." Basically, it's a lecture about design history during the 75 years of Art Center's existence.
*A mobile is a pre-digital 'ecology of things,' since it's a nonlinear, interactive cascade of levers. And design is also an 'ecology of things'. Thus my edifying lecture on the subject, which is made out of steel wire, foamboard and PVC pipe. It's dangling in midair as I type this.
What a year I've had here. I'm starting to get a distinct
feeling of having been there and done that. What that was,
It's gonna take me a while to figure out. But I got an education.
I am leaving this institution as a changed human being.
