*Interesting piece on utopian thinking here. At the least,
periodically totting up all these calamitous failures may
prevent us from re-inventing the wheel.
*I'd be betting William Morris would be appalled by today's
frenzied global capitalism, but on the other hand, he'd
likely be even more alarmed to see his wallpaper still
selling like crazy.
*Let's try and get this straight, shall we? "The perfection of
the social order" is one of the stupidest ideas in the world. This is like sitting down to a "perfect meal" and expecting to eat the same perfect thing, every perfect day, until the end of time.
*You want to reform society? Come up with a scheme that
will win some damn votes.
