Robots aren't just for warfare anymore. Well, technically, they're not really ready for warfare just yet, either. And for that matter, there aren't many bots that can do a lick of housework to save their plastic skins. But that's not stopping the activists at La Fabricadecosasbonitas (The Factory of Pretty Things) from developing a whole new category of bot that does, well, very little at all. The Spanish organization, best known for its participation in anti-WTO protests around the world, has been awarded a financial grant to build 20 robotic protestors. We have a prototype pictured here, and so far it looks like a mannequin on wheels with a sign stuck in its hands. Something tells us at least part of that grant money went to buy a little weed.
