To the relief of all who prefer the convenience of SD cards to MiniDV, Sanyo has announced the Xacti HD1. This 4.7 x 3.1 x 1.4-inch video cam is small enough to fit in your pocket, but still captures up to 41 minutes of 720p HD video on a 2GB SD card (sold separately, of course). Also pleasing is the 2.2-inch OLED display, which is a little bigger than those found on many pocket camcorders. In addition to video, the HD1 shoots 5.1-megapixel still photos. It has a 10x optical zoom, built-in image stabilization, wind noise reduction, a framerate of 30fps, and a macro mode that can shoot from a distance of just 1cm.
