I just saw (and photographed) the biggest feminist demo in Italy
in 30 years.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't think the local signoras are
taking to this new Pope. He just made the rather tactless
remark that the abortion pill, RU-486, is a greater sin
than an actual abortion because it doesn't hurt as much.
The women of Italy seem to have taken this remark
from a different perspective than his own. I've seen
crowd estimates of between fifty and a hundred thousand
people in the square of the Duomo today. Have a look
