Apple just released, along with updates to iPhoto and iTunes relating to the newest version of Front Row, Security Update 2006-001. Among fixes for 13 applications is a specific update to address the vulnerability exposed by the much-debated Leap.A virus/worm/Trojan Horse that showed up and tried to propagate itself by iChat last week.

A malicious application named Leap.A that attempts to propagate using iChat has been detected. With this update for Mac OS X v10.4.5 and Mac OS X Server v10.4.5, iChat now uses Download Validation to warn of unknown or unsafe file types during file transfers.

The update also addresses some lingering issues in Safari. It's available via software update and as a standalone download from Apple. You can read more here.
