When we first heard the Japanese government was planning a ban on the sale of second-hand electronics to go into effect on April 1, we thought it had to be a hoax. But as it turned out, the law really was going on the books. Fortunately for retro geeks, pressure from enthusiasts has caused Japanese lawmakers to think twice. The law will remain on the books, but the government will interpret it in a way that allows used equipment resellers to continue with business as usual.
