


as you might imagine, the shadow panel is packed. Ueda and kaido, the game's director and producer, aren't on stage. But they are in the front row of the audience...
It's a pretty technical talk so far. Lots of stuff about the nitty gritty of character animation. Of course, since that was the most impressive thing about shdow, that's an appropriate topic.
It's difficult to show chars standing on rugged terrain. By using inverse kinematics you can adjust the position, but it looks bad. So it's taken care of not by programmers but by animators.
Can you see the giant colossus leg in the picture? They're talking about legs a lot. It's really important because giant legs fill the screen a lot when you play shadow...
The main character's body is built as several swinging pendulums. So it can be swung around like crazy. Only issue with this is hand position, so that's done with IK.
