Meet the Apple PowerCD, released circa 1993 and now all but forgotten except by the owner of this site and readers of the book AppleDesign.
There are a few pages of the incredible device, which served triple duty as a bad boombox, a slow CD-ROM drive and a PhotoCD player. And with an 879-button remote! All for $499! A steal! Hard to believe it took another eight years to bring out the iPod...
