While ethanol-compatible vehicles may be making the headlines lately, a conversion kit from AFV Solutions enables vehicles to use either gasoline or propane at the flick of a switch.
The EPA just certified AFV Solution's kit for Ford's 4.6 liter engine (used in the Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car and Mercury Grand Marquis ) as having passed federal emission and operating standards.
Fleets that have a central propane filling station are the target market for the kits. Propane is more readily available than other alternative fuels and has reduced emissions when compared to gasoline.
