Slideshow: New Hope for Head Injuries

Detecting and diagnosing brain trauma isn't so easy for emergency medical technicians and battlefield medics working in crisis situations. But backers of a new device say help is on the way. By Abby Christopher.

The Infrascanner scans several points on the head to detect bleeding in the brain. The data collected by the device's scanner is sent wirelessly to the Windows-based PDA via Bluetooth.
