Snoop Dogg, novelizzle?

The details are still slim, but through the wire comes the news that rapper Snoop Dogg is writing his first novel...

'Snoop, by nature of what he does, is a storyteller,' Atria`s Kathleen Schmidt told The Book Standard. ... 'Books speak more to a female audience than does his music, so these novels give him an opportunity to show, particularly his female fans, another side,' she said.

The side that loves and respects women? Oh goody! That sounds like a best-seller.

Seriously though, what I like about this is this bit: "first" novel. Like, there's gonna be a string of them. Maybe a series about kid wizards, smokin' the chronic? Or something with a more Russian tint.

Seeking Ghostwriter ... to write novel from author's outline. Ideally person would have a degree in creative writing and understand the genre of Urban-Black Fic and Middle Class Black fiction.

Is this the face of Snoop, auteur?
