The Grey Lady seems to have a security problem.

An intrepid New York blogger/web designer (Liza Sabater of CultureKitchen and Daily Gotham) noticed a visit from a certain newspaper in the referrer logs.† Sabater followed the link, found herself at what looked to be an undisclosed new blog devoted to New York politics, and saw a WordPress login.

Sabater entered her name and a password and was immediately given publishing rights.

Sabater posted a nice message on the new blog which you can read in full here.

Again this is not hacking. Youøve overlooked what I would consider a huge detail in blog development : You never, ever leave the login permissions open while mired in testing and development.

Sabater continued on in her maiden posting to make a pitch for Drupal over WordPress or Moveable Type.

Isn't the internet great?† I mean, its now true that anyone on the internet can be a New York Times reporter.
