The good news for ethanol boosters is that all of the race cars at the Indy 500 used 10 percent of the fuel (mixed with methanol), and next year's race will be an all ethanol event.

The less than good news is that the Team Ethanol car, from Rahal Letterman Racing

and drive by Jeff Simmons, didn't finish the race after crashing during lap 153.

While ethanol has a higher octane rating than methanol or gasoline, critics say the switch was politically motivated.

You can't get ask for more exposure than being featured in the biggest American race of the year.
