Nintendo called another meeting of Japanese journalists, analysts, businesspeople, whoever it is gets invited to these things, early this morning in Japan. Here's a rundown of what happened, again courtesy of ever-alert Tokyopiaite Jonnyram:

  • Ten DS games have shipped over one million units thus far;
  • Opera web browser delayed to July;
  • TV tuner add-on for DS debuts this fall at around 8000~9000 yen
  • Pokemon on DS will have worldwide voice chat over Wi-Fi;
  • Speaking of Pokemon, here's a – video of Pokemon Battle Revolution for Wii, which is coming out in the early days of the platform's life and will link up to the DS game;
  • Wii to ship 4 million units worldwide by end of 2006 – double the PS3 shipments;
  • DS can be used as a touch screen controller for Wii;
  • Wii can be used to "expand DS games", who knows what that means; and
  • New games for the Virtual Console – not just the old emulated ones – will also sell for 500-1000 yen (between $4 and $8, approximately).
