BlogHer kicked off today down in San Jose, CA. The conference, which is in its second year, is an epicenter of sorts, a gathering place/time for women bloggers. The vibes are good. And rightly so -- the sense of a community coming together to develop ideas, lend support and pool influence is almost palpable. Just read the posts going up from BlogHer by browsing Technorati this weekend.

There's some interesting coverage at our friend Britt Bravo's always-excellent Have Fun Do Good, and also some outsider/observer perspective from Papa Dave Winer on Scripting News. You can also track the happenings at Flickr. Attendees are tagging their photos with BlogHer06 and BlogHer.

Wired News will be reporting from BlogHer 06 later in the weekend.
