iPhone Discussed at Apple Earnings Call

While the entire Apple universe is collectively salivating for August 7's Steve Jobs WWDC keynote and the expected magical product announcements, Apple itself went ahead and stoked the flames of rumor a little bit higher at the conference call yesterday celebrating the second-best quarter in company history, as MacWorld reports:

(Apple CFO Peter) Oppenheimer also dropped Apple's biggest suggestion yet that it has plans to deliver a hybrid mobile phone iPod, saying: "We don't think that the phones that are available today make the best music players. We think the iPod is. But over time, that is likely to change, and we are not sitting around doing nothing."
