No_componentThere was already enough wailing and gnashing of teeth over the fact that PS3 won't ship with an HDMI cable. Now it seems as if -- at least in Japan -- it won't include component video cables, either. Says IGN:

The latest issue of Famitsu contains a first report on the cables that will be included with the Japanese version of the PS3. Purchasers of either the 60 Gig or 20 Gig models will get a power cord, USB cable, ethernet cable and standard composite AV cable.

The Xbox 360 $400 package contains component video cables, although the $300 core pack does not. Oh well -- I was already going to buy HDMI cables seperately for my PS3, so I guess it doesn't much matter to me personally. Still a bit odd that they aren't going to include these cables when the whole point of PS3 is high-def graphics.
