Microsoft "Zune" Somewhat Similar to a Swear Word in Hebrew

One of the things they surely teach at product naming school, assuming such schools exist, is that one should run a potential product name through a few other languages to see if anything dicey pops up (no toothpaste maker would want their paste to translate as "dogbreath" in another language, for instance).

But according to ITWorld, Microsoft's "Zune" digital audio player translates in Hebrew to the swear word that starts with the letter between "E" and "G," which I daren't type.

"Microsoftbreaks the controversy down to pronunciation. "While we do acknowledgethe similarity in pronunciation to Hebrew 'zi-yun,' that is not theintended meaning of the name Zune," according to a Microsoft statement.
Bloggers have picked up on the difference – one humorously writingthat if you say Zune to rhyme with iTunes, out pops the profanity."

I'm with Microsoft on this one... "Zune" and "zi-yun" aren't phonetically similar enough to cause too many effen problems.
