Nassau County -- that's on Long Island, last I checked -- legislators will be voting November 1 on proposed legislation that will force game retailers to conspicuously display game rating information, and also offer customers written information about the ESRB's rating system. Said Democratic congressional candidate Dave Mejias:
It would also establish video games as a special class of restricted media. Does there have to be a sign at the Stephen King section of the bookstore instructing people that the books contain scary violence?
I like the idea of giving parents information, but it shouldn't be done through legislation.
