We know Vista, Microsoft’s new version of Windows, will look all shiny and wonderful.
But a certain breed of tech weenie has been dying to know what it will sound like ever since Microsoft revealed earlier this year that guitarist and prog rock icon Robert Fripp was recording most of the sounds for the new operating system.
Sad to say you may have to wait until the actual product launch to find out, but Fripp (or an amazing simulation) gives a fine tease in a new MP3 preview.
Chill-out fans will recall, by the way, that frequent Fripp cohort Brian Eno created the haunting start-up theme for Windows 95.
