Long-time iPod user Oprah Winfrey teamed with singer/part-time iPod salesman Bono to promote a line of clothing and other stuff today, including a 4GB special edition "Product Red" iPod Nano that costs $199 – the same price as a regular 4GB iPod Nano. Every time one of these iPods sold, $10 will be donated to The Global Fund, which is trying to stamp out AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis, making this a great way to boost your karma this holiday season.
Steve Jobs told the Associated Press:
Bono declared the project cool:
Yeah it is. Other products included in the campaign are a $25 iTunesGift Card; a T-shirt from the Gap; RAZRs and SLVRs from Motorola,
high-tops fromConverse; a American Express card; and a watch from Emporio Armani,
all of which are, of course, red.
