Microsoft has posted some photos of the new Vista retail packaging at the Windows Vista Team Blog. There are pictures of the Vista Home Basic box (shown here) as well as Office Pro and Office for Home and Students. They need some snappier product names, but I think it's probably too late to change that. It looks like it has some clear packaging. Nice curved box corner, a very neutral/professional look. Hopefully these things take up less room on the shelf that they look like they're going to.

We also get this quaintly optimistic intro:

With Windows Vista and 2007 Office system, we didn't just redesign the software packages themselves, but are also introducing new packaging for the two products. The packaging has been completely revised and, we hope, foreshadows the great experience that awaits you once you open it.
