The creative folks at the University of Michigan have created a contest in which students design gadgets to help one-armed people cook in the kitchen.
You're invited to vote for the best gadget here.
It's an interesting project, although I have to admit that the purpose of each gadget is pretty much impossible to figure out from the photos. And I hate Flash presentations, so I'm automatically leaning toward the students who didn't use them.
In case you're wondering, the device at the left is called the Su-Chef System and allows one-armed people to open jars and use a cutting board. Magnets in the cutting board work with the strap to keep food steady while it is cut.
Sounds pretty ingenious to me.
