Matthew Williamson's latest column over at GameSetWatch really, really makes me want to play ActRaiser again. This is the game that, in 1991, represented "next-gen" to me; from the stunning introduction with its super-cool scaling sprite logo to the vivid musical score.
Not to mention the fact that it actually blended platform action with SimCity-style gameplay that was simple enough for even younger-me to not get frustrated with.
Square Enix: why are you not reviving this classic? Virtual Console, is what I'm thinking. Get on it.
