Atomic City, Metropolis of Retrofetishists

Imagine a television show where every part is played by a Las Vegas celebrity impersonator, from Elvis to Sean Connery, from Bette Midler to Pamela Anderson. The setting? Lost Vegas — a futuristic city awash with every imaginable retro fad. There's rocket cars and fallout suits. There's television phones and Hawaiian shirts. There's tiki girls and UFOs. There's flying cars and monorails. Atomic City has it all.

Remember the space race? Remember futurama, Werner von Braun (not von Brown-that was his brother) and nuclear power and space ships and cosmic hover craft and magic liftomatic jet packs? This show has all that. If you dig bikinis, hot pants, gogo (go go) boots and tiny tight mini skirts, this show has that too. Do you secretly jones for Tom Jones, Elvis and Englebert Humperdink? Yup. We got it. How about secret government facilities, Area 51 and underground tunnels leading from Las Vegas casinos to secret underground testing facilities deep in the mohave desert? Yesiree Bob- it's all here. Alien (campy silly) spacecraft, atomic powered everything, robots, flying cars, robotic drink dispensers,and any science fiction gadget you can imagine is stuffed into each half hour episode. In the sixties, we thought all this was possible, because the space age was new and atomic power held endless possibilities.

Atomic City is the dream project of Markus Rothkranz. It's not a television show, nor is it ever likely to be one, but by bursting all of his credit cards and soliciting celebrity impersonators he knows at the casinos, Rothkranz has put together a three minute trailer of his concept which is the wet dream show of all retro-fetishists.
