Leica has acknowledged a problem with their digital M8, a camera whose antecendents retain an almost cult-like air of quality, and whose transition to the digital age was long in coming.
Odd color casts are the reported problem with the $4,500 shooter, an item otherwise crafted with an excellence that lends itself to lifelong ownership and loyalty. The M8 even comes in a traditional design that maintains a look and feel kept since the Leica first introduced the M series some half a century ago — right down to a keeping a sliding footplate created to provide superior support for film.
