There is a secret society of brilliant and evil men, a silent thread of darkness haunting the halls of product development and marketing. The Cabal pleases its vile God through the pursuit of but one objective: the creation of the most appalling, tasteless bling known to man.
Exhibit A: The disgusting Pentax ASAHI LX Gold camera, a ghastly discord of polished gold and fake brown alligator skin. This noisome wound was self-inflicted for Pentax's 60th anniversary, though it does present genuine innovation, claiming to be the world's first water-proof & dust-resistant digital SLR camera.
The Cabal, thankfully, forgot to encrust it with diamonds or offer some mephitic cologne to go with it--pulling back from the abyss at, no doubt, the last moment.
