Anton Gustafsson and Magnus Gyllenswärd of The Interactive Insititute have come up with another example of functional luminescent artwork to go with your Flexilight map-style lamp.
The Power Aware power strip's cord pulses and glows, siphoning just a little of the electron nectar that comes down the pipe while appliances are in use. They describe it as an expression of the inspirational presence of energy consumption in an ecologically aware home, or somesuch. This is to make you feel guilty. Also: looks cool.
Here's to hoping this ends up a real product.
