Some iPod onlookers have claimed that a slip-up on page ten of the iPod user manual indicates that a touch-screen model is waiting in the wings. The sentence in question:

"All other Notes feature capabilities described in this document are supported for iPod models with display screens, beginning with the touch-screen models."

Ever alert to matters of public relations, Apple has edited the PDF manual so that "touch-screen" has been replaced by "touch wheel" (page 10), so it appears to have been a mistake. Still, someone in Cupertino's definitely thinking about touch-screens, whether the next iPod will have one or not. Oh well, back to the rumor mill.
