Baker forwarded me an email from the folks at game publisher Stardock (keepers of the digital delivery service TotalGaming.net), who point out that Space Rangers 2 is now available on their site, entirely free of digital-rights management whatnot.
This is especially significant as Space Rangers 2 was one of the games saddled with the reviled Starforce copy-protection software, which caused many PC users to avoid it altogether even though it was well-reviewed by the gaming press. Stardock points out that you can now play it without worry, and that you can copy the game to any computer you wish after purchase.
