UK trade mag MCV reports that Square Enix is looking to start taking Europe a bit more seriously than it has in the past. Unfortunately, they might be on the verge of repeating one of their legendary gaffes. Square Enix European president John Yamamoto says he's looking into developing games in Europe:
On the other hand, maybe I'm rushing to judgment. Square Enix's output has been hit-or-miss as of late. It's not like in the early nineties when Japan kept churning out gold and the US branch decided to ditch all that in favor of American-developed games that totally missed the point. Maybe Euro devs could inject some life into struggling series. Give 'em Mana to start.
