To see it is to covet it. The Nagy Magical-Movable-Type Pixello-Dynamotronic Computational Engine is a retro-futurist casemod for desktop computers, a time machine in mahogany and brass. The Datamancer set out to build a "false historical heritage" for the humming beige box, and succeeds in style.
As yet incomplete, the mockup is full of Vernian promise: a 1908 Underwood typewriter, a 1920s radio cabinet, an Edison phonograph horn... all it needs now is a whirling steam-powered governor and a polished oak machine that rips wax cylinders and shellac records to MP3.
